Currensee steps into China. With a jump in trading volume and prospects for more in the economic giant, Currensee dips into this huge market, also with a new website.

The first social network and alternative investment company offers investors to invest their money into forex trading the same way they do with mutual funds. The program already runs since October, and is seeing increasing trading volume and increasing interest from money managers.

I have had the chance to chat with the Dave Lemont, CEO of Currensee, about recent developments and achievements, future plans and how their investment offering differs from the rest of the market.

Currensee is the first forex social network, and in recent months it has been focusing on its Trade Leaders Investment Program. There are different estimations about the percentage of winners in forex trading. You can now see who is winning in forex trading – Currense launches a trader leaderboard for the forex industry – in real time!

After a rather quiet month from Currensee, they now launched a great feature – users of their platform can see the top winning traders in trading. It includes not only the amount of pips, but also the risk factor. They introduce their Trader Authority Index algorithm for ranking traders.

Currensee Raises $8M for Expansion Outside the US

Social forex site Currensee got new funding from investors. These funds will fuel expansion into the UK, Europe and Asia, development of the platform and the Trade Leaders program in which you can follow and mimic real trades of successful traders.

Raising money for start ups isn’t so common since the breakout of the financial crisis. It’s quite impressive that Currensee managed to get new funding at these times. It seems that investors believe in the transparent platform and the opportunities on the road ahead. The investors are Northbridge Venture Partners and Egan Managed Capital.
