Arnaud Jeulin, owner of Mataf, has released his monthly summary of forex global statistics.Note that Jeulin bases his data on Google’s Double Click Ad Planner, which is considered relatively reliable, but still not accurate enough. There are many ways to measure web traffic, and there still isn’t a standardization in this field.

On Sunday, March 13th, the clock moves forward in the US and Canada. So, the New York session begins one earlier,already at 12:00 GMT. The London session  begins that begins at 8:00 GMT ends at 17:00 GMT. So instead of 4 overlapping hours (13:00 to 17:00), we get 5. These hours,  have the highest trade volume and include the most important American releases, which are 12:30 and 14:00 at DST.

It’s important to note that the synchronization with real time data from the brokerage account allows viewing data in real time. So it’s not only historical, anecdotal analysis, but also a t real time tool. I had the chance to examine the system and I must say it works fast – this is valuable when the market moves fast.

The Forex Factory Market page’s highlight is the independent quotes – quotes from brokers are aggregated using FF’s proprietary system, providing independent real time quotes on forex exchange rates.

The London and New York sessions are the most intensive and usually the most volatile in the forex market. Both cities are major global financial centers. The London session is between 8:00 to 17:00 GMT and the New York session is between 13:00 to 22:00 GMT.

Forex Factory launched the system three months ago as an independent multi-broker forex quote system. In my initial report about Forex Factory Market, I wrote that this is a great development, as FF is an independent forex portal, which doesn’t lean on a single broker. The quotes from brokers vary, and FF shows them all in one place.
