Bank of Korea’s Governor Lee expects the economy to improve in the second half of this year, according to Yonhap.

Lee’s remarks come after a recent central bank study showed the economy likely contracted  0.3 percent in the first quarter of the year due to falling private investments and exports.

The central bank kept  its policy rate at the current level of 1.75% and  dropped signal for a rate hike earlier this month.
