BOC Gov Poloz speech: NAFTA going well/will continue to raise rates gradually

BOC Gov Poloz is speaking and has said that BoC will continue to raise rates gradually and that NAFTA negotiations are going well, (in stark contrast to what Trump has been saying of late).

Further comments:

  • Core inflation measures clustered around 2%.
  • Inflation bump is already starting to fade.
  • BOC’s Poloz says will continue to raise rates gradually.
  • Nafta negotiators are doing a good job in difficult situation.
  • Dispute settlement was why we wanted deal in first place.
  • So much to be gained on both sides for getting it done.
  • In the BOC Gov Poloz Q&A: Optimistic for a Nafta agreement.
  • Canada’s MacNaughton says sees some progress on Nafta.
