Crypto market overview: Bitcoin (BTC) breaks $6,000, bulls rejoice

  • All major coins are gaining during Asian hours on Thursday.
  • Bitcoin dominance hit the highest level since September 2018.  

Crypto bulls are at the driving wheel again. Bitcoin and the  majority  of top-20 major altcoins are growing fast during early Asian hours with Bitcoin dominance at 56.8%, which is the highest level since September 2018.  The total market capitalization has returned to $189 billion, down from $184 billion on Wednesday. The average daily trading volumes is registered at $45 billion.  

Top-3 coins price overview:

  • Bitcoin broke above critical $6,000 for the first time since November 2018 and hit $6,097 high by the time of writing. The upside momentum is gaining traction as the break through an important resistance might have triggered trading orders.  
  • Ethereum is also on the rise,  The second largest virtual coin has gained over 2% nearly 2% in recent 24 hours and 1.5% since the beginning of Thursday. At the time of writing, ETH/USD is changing hands at $173, off the intraday high registered at $175.30.
  • Ripple’s XRP remains apathetic marginally above $0.3000. The third largest coin has been trading within a tight range recently.  

The biggest market-movers:

  • Bitcoin SV is the best performing altcoin of the day with over 9% of gains during the recent 24 hours. At the time of writing the 13th largest coin is changing hands at $58.09  
  • Monero (XMR) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has gained about 3% since this time on Wednesday to trade at $67.56 and $291.84 respectively.
  • Cosmos (ATOM) is an outsider today. The 15th largest coin has lost 3% on a day-on-day basis.
