The company charged with developing the highly anticipated Ethereum network upgrade Prysmatic Labs has announced that their third testnet for Ethereum 2.0 has been launched. The current testnet is executing using the Proof of Athouruty Goerli.
“The testnet is publicly accessible and NOT a simulation. We provide a cloud cluster of nodes that participate in consensus but anyone can participate in maintaining the network alive,”
The testnet is open to everyone by turning on Ethereum 2.0 node using the client provided by the developers. The system allows users to take their coins as well. The testnet will allow developers to monitor the network for bugs and other attacks and move to make amendments.
Following this current testnet, Prysmatic Labs will launch a cross-client testnet. The current testnet only allows Prysmatic Labs’ nodes to communicate with each other. The same happened with Lighthouse and Nimbus but the next step is for all these networks to run on a single blockchain. After this is done successfully, the community can get ready for the mainnet.
