The European Parliament called for unity on Brexit in the UK’s House of Commons while releasing the steering group statement that:
- Calls on the UK government to work intensively with all political parties in the House of Commons to overcome Brexit deadlock.
- Repeatedly pointed out that the European Parliament cannot give its consent to Brexit withdrawal agreement without Irish backstop.
The European Parliament will hold another debate on Brexit on January 30 after the UK House of Commons vote on next steps.
