In an interview with Bloomberg, Fed Vice Chair Richard Clarida said that the U.S. economy was in a good place and echoed the FOMC’s message on policy outlook by saying that there wasn’t a strong case to move in either direction.
Commenting on the inflation softness, Clarida argued that the slowdown was due to temporary factors and further added that their focus was to get inflation back to 2% target rate and that they would adjust the policy as necessary.
