First jobs Friday of 2019 – live coverage

The first jobs day of 2019 is for the last month of 2018. December is expected to show a decent gain in jobs after a mediocre figure in November. The ADP NFP raised expectations. Average hourly earnings also carry high expectations for a rise of 0.3% m/m. The US Dollar may enjoy a good report but stock markets probably prefer a bad one to push the Fed to a dovish stance. Fed Chair Jerome Powell will speak later on and will have the chance to respond to the data.
