The coronavirus situation in France has been going the “wrong way” for the past two weeks, French Prime Minister (PM) Jean Castex said on Tuesday. “Country will reach a nationwide high alert level this week,” Castex added and noted that they will intensify measures in France’s 20 biggest cities. “If we don’t collectively react, we’ll be at risk of a pandemic resurgence that will be difficult to control.” Market reaction The EUR/USD pair largely ignored these comments and was last seen gaining 0.35% on a daily basis at 1.1778.
