About 875 million Indians voters will be courted by competing political parties in the lead up to the polls, resulting in an increase in gasoline and diesel demand by as much as 80,000 barrels per day, according to Singapore-based Facts Global Energy.

The world’s fastest growing economy is already consuming 75,000 barrels and 100,000 barrels of gasoline and diesel, respectively, per day.
