The Corriere della Sera, an Italian daily newspaper, reports that the Italian early elections could be called on September 9th.
This comes after Italy’s President rejected a Eurosceptic candidate for the key economy ministry, triggering a possible constitutional crisis, which paved the way for the early elections.
According to Reuters, Italy’s President, Sergio Mattarella, called in a former International Monetary Fund (IMF) director of Fiscal affairs Carlo Cottarelli on Monday to head a stopgap government.
