Japan’s Nogami: Export controls don’t violate principles of free trade

Japan’s Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Nogami is on the wires now, via Reuters, citing that export controls don’t violate principles of free trade.

His comments are in reference to the recent Japanese export curbs on the tech materials traded to South Korea.

The Yen is seen gaining further ground in the Asian trades amid mounting trade tensions between the US-China and Japan-South Korea, sending the USD/JPY pair back below the 108 handle.
