Senior Japan MOF official: Aso urged US to give Japan permanent exemption from metals tariff

A senior Japan’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) official reported on Friday that the Japanese Finance Minister Aso met the US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin for 30 minutes and urged the US to give Japan permanent exemption from steel, aluminum import tariffs in the meeting with Mnuchin.
