According to Reuters, when asked if the Chequers deal was dead, British Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab said that they were still in a negotiation and stated that an extension to Article 50 was not on the cards.
Earlier in the day, reports of the UK planning to compromise on the Irish border in order to reach a Brexit deal boosted the GBP/USD pair to a daily high at 1.3115. Commenting on this report, Raab said that Northern Island was still an outstanding issue and added that they would not see two customs regimes in the UK.
