UK government dismisses calls of deal on fisheries

Having heard from The Guardian that the UK and the European Union (EU) are inching closer to a settlement on the fisheries, a key hurdle for Brexit talks, reporters from the BBC, The Sky News and the Times are all crossing the hopes.

The BBC’s Nick Beake was known to be the first to mention the same:

Following that Sky News’ Laura Laura Kuenssberg also confirmed the British government’s rejection of the claims

Additionally, Times’ Tom Newton Dunn and Sky News Beth Rigby gave details of the issue while confirming the UK’s stand on it.

FX implications

Considering the latest rejection of the Brexit deal optimism, GBP/USD may witness a downside gap at the week’s start. The Cable eased from the highest since May 2018 during Friday before closing to 1.3437.
