UK: Reports point to positive developments in latest Brexit talks

Jessica Elgot, the chief political correspondent for The Guardian, in the last hour tweeted out that today’s Brexit talks between the opposition Labour party and the government were “more positive than expected.”

“Tone markedly different and seems now clear grounds to continue talking. But def not a breakthrough yet,” Elgot added. Similarly, HuffPost’s executive editor, Paul Waugh said that the meeting today on Brexit was warmer. “Tone was better and now there is at least  grounds for continuing talks.”

There seems to be a GBP-positive reaction to these headlines with the GBP/USD turning positive on the day near 1.2940.
