UK’s Unite the Union: Offshore oil workers to ballot for potential strike

Unite the Union, Britain’s biggest trade union, has recently announced that offshore oil workers were to ballot for a  potential strike after rejecting the pay offer of the Offshore Contractors Association, as reported by Reuters.

According to Unite the Union, 106 north sea oil platforms would be affected if workers vote to strike.

The initial reaction to this development allowed the barrel of West Texas Intermediate to recover above the $68 handle as it added around 30 cents in the last minutes.
