China has been buying large amounts of US agricultural products, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told Fox Business Network on Monday. “China-US trade talks continue at various levels,” Ross added.
Commenting on the US Commerce Department’s decision to tighten restriction on Huawei’s access to US technology and semiconductors, Ross explained that President Trump was “closing loopholes.”
Market reaction
These comments don’t seem to be having a meaningful impact on the USD’s performance against its peers. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was down 0.09% on the day at 93.01.
