“Several other economic indicators for the month of December were supposed to come out this week including new homes sales and durable goods orders. Unfortunately, these releases will almost certainly have to be postponed due to the government shutdown. Even if things were to return to normal in the next few days, there wouldn’t be enough time for government agencies to compile the data.”

“Consequently, we will not publish forecasts for these indicators this week. However, we’ll still get some information about the state of the manufacturing sector in January with the release of Markit’s flash estimate of the manufacturing PMI.”
