Commenting on the ongoing conflict in Venezuela, the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said that there could be military action in Venezuela if it was required while adding that they would prefer a peaceful transition.
Earlier in the day, in an interview with Fox News, Pompeo said Nicolás Maduro, the disputed president of Venezuela, was ‘ready to go,’ but added that the Russian government talked him out of this decision. “We hope he’ll reconsider and get back on that plane,” Pompeo summarized.
