When asked if there could be a small deal on COVID-19 aid, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told CNBC that there is a lot of bipartisan support.
“I hope House Speaker Pelosi is interested in sitting down for more COVID aid talks,” Mnuchin added, as reported by Reuters. “Five US States have been approved for new unemployment aid, 14 others applied or preparing to.”
Market reaction
The greenback continues to weaken against its major rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was at its lowest level since May 2018 at 92.22, losing 0.65% on a daily basis.
