In a statement issued late-Tuesday, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged India and Pakistan to avoid “further military activity” following the Balakot bombing by India, Reuters reports. After speaking separately with the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan, Pompeo noted: “I expressed to both Ministers that we encourage India and Pakistan to exercise restraint, and avoid escalation at any cost.
