Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System, will be delivering his remarks on the monetary policy outlook at a press conference following the 2-day meeting of the Board of Governors. Powell’s speech today (September 26, 2018) will start at 18:30 GMT.
Most experts expect the Fed to announce a 25 bps rate hike today. However, the focus will be on the updated economic projections and the dot diagram, which will reveal if the FOMC agrees on hiking rates one more time in 2018 as well as the number of anticipated hikes in 2019.
