The Italian Deputy PM Di Maio is on the wires now, via Reuters, noting that his government will send a letter to the European Commission to clarify the reasons of 2019 deficit target at 2.4% of GDP.
Di Maio added that the govt is ready to sit at the table and discuss with the EU authorities. Further, he reiterated that the Govt has no intention to leave the Euro.
The Govt looks at the bond yield spread with attention, Di Maio noted.
Meanwhile, reports hit the wires earlier today, citing that Italy expects the EU to reject the budget on Tuesday, as the budget deficit of 2.4% of GDP clearly violates the EU fiscal rules.
