DUP said to back an amendment to make EU’s Irish backstop illegal

According to the latest headlines floating on the wires, via the Telegraph, the Democratic Unionist party are said to back amendment being tabled by Tory Eurosceptics on Wednesday.

With 40 Tory MPs already poised to support the amendment, this will effectively make the EU’s Northern Ireland backstop illegal.

The news prompted some fresh selling around the British Pound, with the GBP/USD pair moving on the verge of breaking below the key 1.30 psychological mark.
