NZ: Retail card sales eased in December eased – TDS

Analysts at TD Securities explain that after payback for a very strong Sept qtr, New Zealand’s Dec qtr retail card sales eased.

Key Quotes

“Dec sales fell by -2.3%/m – dragged down by much cheaper fuel – which meant that Dec qtr was -0.1%/q after +2.1%/q for Q3. It has been a bumpy year for this measure, masking solid consumption as measured by the national accounts.”
