White House Economic Advisor is out on the wires stating the need for China trade talks to focus on settling disputes related to intellectual property (IP) and technology theft.
Moreover, the two sides have made little progress on structural issues such as IP. That was confirmed by Robert Lighthizer, the US trade representative, in a meeting with lawmakers last week.
