The European Central Bank (ECB) governing council member Benoit Coeure was out with some comments in the last hour, saying that it is too early to discuss whether ECB will hike rates this year as the recent economic slowdown has surprised the central bank. Coeure sees quite a lot of political uncertainty and further added that the ECB may have to adjust rate guidance at some point as the jury is still out on how persistent the slowdown will be.
