Fed’s Clarida: economy in a good place

Fed’s Vice Chair Clarida is crossing the wires, with some positive comments about the US economy:

• The economy and Feds policy are in a good place. momentum in the economy is good.
• Tariffs unlikely to have an effect on growth.
• Fed interest rates ‘a long way from zero now. ´
• Sees prospects for an upturn in global growth later in 2019.
• Don’t see a need for a rate move in either direction
• Dismisses chances of a possible recession.
