IMF’s Thomsen: Germany needs to increase spending in coming years

Poul Mathias Thomsen, the director of the International Monetary Fund’s European Department, recently crossed the wires arguing that Germany needed to increase spending in the coming years and added that he was expecting wage growth in Germany and other EU nations to continue.

“German fiscal relaxation in 2019 is good, but more is needed,” Thomsen said.
