White House trade advisor Peter Navarro crossed the wires in the last minutes, announcing that the U.S. trade representative Lighthizer was soon expected to meet face to face with his Chinese counterpart.
“Huawei is a national security threat,” Navarro added. “The U.S. has a trade dispute with China, not a war.”
Regarding the policy outlook, Navarro reiterated that the Fed should cut the interest rates.
The greenback doesn’t seem to be paying any attention to these remarks and the US Dollar Index stays flat on the day near 96.75.
