Breaking: US GDP contracts 4.8% in first quarter

The United States’ Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted 4.8% in the first quarter, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis’ first estimate showed on Wednesday. This reading came in worse than the market expectation for a decline of 4%.
