The European Union (EU) is holding talks with Moderna for 150 million doses of its coronavirus vaccine, Reuters reported on Monday, citing two senior EU sources.
Sources further noted that the EU made no progress with AstraZeneca during last Friday’s negotiations on securing more vaccine supplies for the first quarter. “AstraZeneca flagged the possibility of delivering vaccine doses to the EU from India and US factories,” sources added and said that the timing was unclear.
Market reaction
The EUR/USD pair showed no immediate reaction to this headline and was last seen posting small daily gains at 1.2130.
