Key Quotes:
BRUPDATE:
“UK Prime Minister May was able to fend off the Tory rebellion, with the government winning a key Brexit vote 324-298. The fractured party had been pushing for Parliamentary powers during the final stages of Brexit talks. The government promised to engage in a compromise and the focus will shift to the terms of the deal. That said, the government opened the door to MPs taking control of the negotiations if ministers fail to strike a deal in Brussels. GBP initially rose on the news, but has since given up most gains.”
TRUMPDATE:
“Trump’s date with Kim appears to have gone well, with the US agreeing to exchange “security guarantees” for North Korea’s “complete denuclearisation”. However, concrete details are still lacking, with no deadline or next steps to disarmament signalled. Perhaps a second date is in order.”
