According to Politico, Everett Eissenstat will be departing US President Trump’s economic advisory team. Eissenstat has been a top advisor to Trump on trade and international issues, acting as the president’s ‘sherpa’ at major international meetings, including the recent G-20 and APEC meetings.
Eissenstat was also Trump’s top lieutenant at the recent G-7 meeting, where President Trump withdrew his support for the meeting’s joint statement after leaving the meeting a day early.
Departures from within the Trump administration have been a regular occurrence since Trump getting sworn into office, and the Yen used to bump as traders flocked into safe havens when departure news would break, but traders have become desensitized to key players within Trump’s administration leaving, and the latest announcement has seen little market reaction.
