Brexit: chief negotiators vowed to make negotiations continuous – ANZ

Analysts at ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited (ANZ) explained that chief negotiators in the Brexit saga have vowed to make negotiations continuous as discussions enter a final stage, with a deal needing to be finalised by 29 March.

Key quotes:

“UK Brexit secretary Raab said, “We agreed to step up the intensity of the negotiations,” and “There are still some significant issues to overcome, yes on Northern Ireland, but also on the future relationship.” But he played down concerns of the implications of a no-deal Brexit.

“EU’s Chief Brexit negotiator Barnier warned that it was unlikely that an agreement would be reached before November, and that Brussels would not accept blame if they failed to strike an agreement.”
