German ZEW Current situation eases to 87.4 in May, surprises positively

The German ZEW headline numbers for May showed that the economic sentiment numbers steadied at -8.2 versus -8.2 expectations. While the sub-index current conditions figure eased to 87.4 versus 86.2 expected and 87.9 booked previously, surprising markets to the upside.
