Global daily market wrap – TDS

Analysts at TD Securities offered a market wrap in a snap-shot.

Key Quotes:

“The US-North Korea Summit came and went with little fanfare from the market’s perspective, with North American equities slightly higher into the close (SPX: +0.2%, TSX: +0.1%) after a mixed session in Europe. Treasuries saw a modest sell-off in the front-end as the curve bear-flattened while Canadian rates saw little change beyond a 2bp rally in 30s.”

“The USD saw a broad rally against G10 FX ahead of tomorrow’s FOMC meeting. AUD (-0.5%) was the weakest currency while cable saw little change after PM May won a key Brexit vote in Parliament. USDCAD (+0.4%) pushed above 1.30 amid dollar strength and heightened trade tensions. UK CPI and the June FOMC will provide the main risk events for Wednesday.”
