The latest Consumer Price Index Core data released by the Bank of Canada showed that the annual inflation in May eased to 1.3% in May from 1.5% in April to fall short of the market expectation of 1.4%.
On a monthly basis, inflation decreased by 0.1% following April’s 0.1% increase.
- Core CPI excludes fruits, vegetables, gasoline, fuel oil, natural gas, mortgage interest, intercity transportation, and tobacco products.
