The UK Finance Minister/ Chancellor Philip Hammond, reacting to today’s release of the latest UK GDP growth figures, said that Q3 data is proof of the underlying strength in our economy.
The preliminary estimates showed that the UK Q3 GDP growth stood at +0.6% q/q as against +0.4% recorded in the previous quarter. The positive headline reading, however, was overshadowed by the third consecutive quarterly drop in the total business investment amid Brexit uncertainties and did little to lend any support to the British Pound.
