EU’s Juncker set to meet Italian PM Conte on Wednesday at 1500 GMT

Livesquawk is out with the latest update citing that the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will meet the Italian PM Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday in Brussels at 1600 CET (1500 GMT).

A spokeswoman for the European Union (EU) executive said on Monday: “On Wednesday (…) President Juncker will receive the Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte for a working meeting.”

Both the leaders will meet to discuss the changes to Italy’s 2019 budget, in order to avoid an EU disciplinary procedure that could increase market pressure on the Italian government.
