France’s Ferrand: French budget deficit is likely to reach 3.4 % in 2019

In an interview with a Sunday newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, French National Assembly President Richard Ferrand  expressed his take on the French budget deficit, Reuters reports.

Key Headlines:

“We take the responsibility of having a higher-than-expected deficit, probably at 3.4 percent of the gross national product. But it will be a cyclical peak, not a structural trajectory.”

President Macron announced wage increases and a tax cut last week after riots.

Expected to take the deficit from what was projected to be  2.8% deficit.
