A spokesperson for UK Prime Minister Theresa May has delivered a statement on the heels of earlier reports that leaders in the UK are exploring the possibility of extending the EU’s Article 50, effectively delaying the final Brexit date as a backstop in case PM May’s Brexit bill fails a parliamentary vote.
According to the spokesperson, the final Brexit date of March 29th is a firm date, and the government will not, under any circumstances, be extending Article 50.
PM May’s camp needs to shut down any hopes of extending Brexit, as Mrs May’s bleed the clock strategy on her final Brexit bill is her only play in trying to draw nay voters in the UK parliament into the yes camp on her much-despised EU divorce agreement.
