The Office for National Statistics (ONS) published the UK industrial and manufacturing production data on Friday, with the overall industrial activity showing awful numbers in the month of November.
Manufacturing output arrived at -0.3% m/m in Nov versus +0.3% expectations and -0.6% booked in Oct while total industrial output contracted 0.4% in the reported month.
On an annualized basis, the UK manufacturing production figures came in at -1.1% in Nov, below expectations of -0.7%. Total industrial output dropped 1.5% in Nov, missing expectations of a -0.7% reading and against the previous -0.9% print.
Separately, the UK goods trade balance numbers were published, which arrived at GBP -12.02 billion in Nov, versus GBP -11.40 billion expectations and GBP -11.873 billion last. Total trade balance (non-EU) came in at GBP -3.90 billion in Nov versus GBP -4.30 billion previous.
