Irish foreign minister, Simon Coveney, has recently crossed the wires explaining that none of the ideas around alternative arrangements for the backstop had stood up to scrutiny. “We have not heard any new ideas that would go beyond what has already been tested on the Irish backstop,” Coveney further added.
