EIA: Commercial crude oil inventories increased by 2.8 million barrels from previous week

Below are some key highlights from the weekly oil market report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

  • U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.8 million barrels per day during the week ending March 22, 2019.
  • Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.7 million barrels per day.
  • Distillate fuel production increased last week, averaging 4.9 million barrels per day.
  • Refineries operated at 86.6% of their operable capacity last week.  
  • U.S. commercial crude oil inventories  increased by 2.8 million barrels from the previous week.  
  • U.S. crude oil imports averaged 6.5 million barrels per day last week, down by 392,000 barrels per day from the previous week.
