Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar was out on the wires in the last minutes, stating that there was still time for British Prime Minister Theresa May to come to the European Council with credible proposals.
Despite this optimistic comment, the British pound is having a hard time finding demand on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Sebastian Payne, Financial Times’ Whitehall correspondent, claimed that the PM was likely to pick the option of a no-deal Brexit over revocation of Article 50 to weigh on the currency.
