Responding to a question about whether or not the government will hold yet another meaningful vote, British Prime Minister Theresa May’s spokesman, James Slack, said that they will do so if there is a realistic chance of success. The spokesman further reiterated that the PM was still opposed to a second referendum and added that they continued to believe it was in the best interest of the UK to leave with a deal.
Markets paid little to no attention to these remarks and the GBP/USD pair was trading in the lower half of its daily range near 1.3060, erasing 0.3% on a daily basis.
