Germany’s European Affairs Minister Michael Roth is on the wires now, via Reuters, noting that the current Brexit situation is very frustrating.

UK Brexit deadline expires on Friday unless strict conditions are met.

Cross-party talks began too late and have yet to produce results.

Unfortunately, conditions set by European leaders for extension are not met yet.

A short extension would be sensible if decisions are taken in the coming days.
